Postnatal yoga uses movement, balance and relaxation to soothe and allow your body to recover from pregnancy, birth, and the demands of motherhood. Whilst the movement is largely centred around you the class is baby inclusive and will include some gentle mum and baby movement.
Suitable for mums who have had their 6-8 week check-up, and if (c-section suitable around 10 weeks with GP consultation). Babies welcome up until they’re fast-crawling.
Date for June/July course: Thurs 20th June, Thurs 27th June, Thurs 4th July, Thurs 11th July, Thurs 18th July, Thurs 25th July
Second block of classes start: August 8th
This postnatal class is centred around helping you:
Nurture and restore feelings of deep wellbeing
Support and strengthen your core muscles (gently)
Embrace and reconnect with your body
Calm your mind and destress your nervous system
Improve your posture and ease out tired muscles
Socialise with other mums (no more going round in circles at home)
Handle the rollercoaster of emotions that motherhood brings
Learn soothing breathing techniques so you can be fully present for your baby
Helps rebalance hormones
Strengthens your pelvic floor
Don’t feel isolated at home – come and relax in a friendly and relaxing place.
What’s good for you is good for your baby!
What do you need to bring?
Just you and your baby and whatever you normally bring for a day out together. I provide everything you need for yoga. It’d be wise for you to wear something comfortable that allows you to move freely. Let’s have fun!
Where is the studio?
This course is held in the Birchcliffe Centre and the studio entrance is on Chapel Avenue. From Birchcliffe Road head straight up Chapel Avenue towards Nutclough woods and on the right-hand side you’ll see a blue door with the Bridge Pilates Studio logo on it. We’re in there waiting for you! HX7 8DG
